I think family obligations now require me to have a car with more than two doors, so I thought I'd see if there's any interest in my little Fiat. It's a 5-speed manual, no options except for white 17" wheels. I bought it used in 2016, it's currently just shy of 40k miles. It's not my DD and only gets driven a handful of times a month, stays garaged otherwise. It's done three track days and a season of autocross and has given me exactly zero problems.
It's mostly stock, with the exception of a bigger rear bar and an extra set of wheels and tires for fun times (Rota RB in 16x7, good Hankook RS3s). I have a clip-in Schroth 4-point harness, a short ram intake, and some EBC Yellow front pads to go with it.
Most similar Abarth are on AutoTrader right now for about $10,000 so that seems like a good place to start, negotiable obviously.
Disregard, went ahead and traded it in for this:
Nice! I love that color scheme. What did they give you in trade for the abarth??

I'm wondering how many of us are left? Had mine from new for just over 6 years, but thinking next year might be time for a change. Nothing wrong, just not getting younger and want to try more cars while I'm healthy to enjoy them.
And the N is actually on my list.
Yep, same. It fit my needs when I bought it four years ago, but now my needs are changing and I don't have space to keep more than two cars. The Veloster N checked most of the boxes; I'd also looked at a Civic Si but I wanted to stick with a hatch and didn't want to shell out $$$ for a Type R. Plus the N is far more rare around here than anything comparable.
And I tried CarMax first and was only offered $3000 to buy it outright... Hyundai gave me $5000 on the trade-in.
Out of all the new cars at the Chicago Auto Show this past February this was one of the only ones that I was excited about and felt it could be a daily driver.
Sure the C8 Corvette was exciting but it's our of my price range and not really available.
I REALLY want an N, and current events are making me feel a lot more "live for today" than prudent.
I think the N is the smart choice, but I'm also considering a non-turbo 996 911, Corvette C6 or Bullitt/Boss 302 variant Mustang.
The advice I received was "if your job is secure right now and you were looking to buy a car already, now is the time to do it." You don't have to tell me twice when dinner's ready...
And I'd considered something lightly used as well but I also kinda wanted a new car for a change, and Hyundai's warranty is pretty tough to beat. Plus it specifically says that the warranty is not void just because you use the car for track events, and I can't wait to get it on the track...
