If you read my last Wheeler Dealers thread y'all know the story with this one. But for those that don't here's the TL:DR; I traded a young man my 2005 C55 for this 2012 Mazdaspeed 3, it literally took months to get the title from him, but now it's mine. I'm moving in a couple months and don't need another car to ferry 1100 miles.
Car is in good shape, but needs a couple things to bring it back up to snuff for me.
- Needs both rear and passenger motor mounts.
- The exhaust is cut off befor the back axle, it's loud enough that I don't like it, but some may find it to their tastes.
- The BBS wheels are painted or dipped black, I can't tell, but they don't have TPMS sensors in them so the light on the dash is on for that.
- The check engine light comes on for unmetered air, if I had to guess the Cobb short ram intake is probably not installed correctly. I'll look at that and see if I can fix it.
- Missing the intercooler plastic trim surround.
- The fog light trim and front emblem have been painted blue for some reason.
- The Steering wheel is a little worn on the top and the shift knob is from a Miata and doesn't have the proper 6 speed pattern on the ball.
- Will need tires soon, one has a slow leak and almost all are at the treadwear marks.
That's pretty much it, all fairly minor, I just don't have time to do my usual fix and flip to this one with all my house renovations going on, hence the low price at black book for rough trade-in value.
On the plus side, the car has the Cobb intake, and Front Strut Bar. The BBS can be a plus or minus depending on your tastes.
On to the pics. The car is a pearl black, not solid.
