I don't really want to sell this, but I don't really know what to do with it right now. In February I bought a used Touareg, needed something to tow with and take my parents around in more comfort than our other vehicles.

2002 F150, manual transmission, manual t-case, power windows and door locks, a/c functioning, 4.2 v6, tow hitch with brake controller.

Good runs, drives, 4x4 works great. 177k miles approx.

Body rusty, one cab mount bad and cab is down about 1" on one side as it lines up with bed. Check engine light on (mixture fault), could use tires, may need rear caliper, and parking brake hardware is removed.

Its not perfect, but it works as a truck does. Only other downside is because of its configuration the factory tow rating is low. Id have to look it up again but I recall it is between 2000-2500. I have towed a Miata on a U-Haul trailer with it...

Truck is at my work right now but I don't want to keep it there forever. I have four cars at my house now, something gotta go.

$1000 firm. If I want another manual transmission truck in the future I doubt I'll find one under a grand which is why I'm stuck on the price.

More pictures as I dig them out or can go to work again (motorcycle accident, whole other story)

Hmmmmm......

That frame ('cause your body is rusty) something like a '48 Pontiac or Chevy Torpedo Body would just about do it for me.

But there are easier answers.

Bump. Back to work this week after a motorcycle accident. Been parking my Touareg next to my truck and keep forgetting to grab the key in the morning. I just put the key in the vehicle for tomorrow so tomorrow after work I'll start up the truck and move it around some. I'd love to keep it but I don't really want to leave it at my job forever.

Last try here before the book of faces. My mom's car is on the way out and my dad's car just got totaled (sideswipe accident, everyone safe). They aren't car buyers and I'm going to have to work hard in order to get them to buy something.

There's probably a lot of high school graduation money floating around right now.  This could be a great place for someone to spend that money and FacePlace will attract those buyers.

I'd come out at $2,500 if it can be driven. After 2 weeks at that price, drop your asking price by $300 every two weeks after that.  Of course,  obo, so at anytime you might make a deal.

You'll have no trouble meeting your $1k goal.   The real question is how much can you beat $1k.

Re-list it for $1500 and "let" the FB buyers talk you down to $1200?

It's listed on FB at $2000 and those are the offers I'm getting. Listing at $1500 will probably get me $500 offers.

Did you reply back to the $900 offer with, "make it $1,200 and it's yours."  He might replay. "I could do $1,000.“

Remember, this started with you asking $1000 firm

Two weeks have passed, time to lower your $2000 to $1700.  That might bring you $1200 and you've won by $200.

You passed on $900 which was just $100 short or pretty much there.

Which do you want more? Money or keep the truck.

I'd like to keep it, but I don't want to overload my storage space. So selling makes some sense so I have more room.

In a year or two I'm planning on buying 5+ acres somewhere in the woods. Then I'll have the space and privacy for my numerous vehicles. At that point the truck will be great thing to have. Dump runs, add a plow?, haul brush, drag trees through the woods, etc.

If I sell it today for cheap, I'll be kicking myself down the line when I try to find a replacement, manual transmission, regular cab, short bed, 4x4 for a similar price. Obviously the market fluctuates so in general all truck prices could go up in that time frame but still.

Also the last and probably biggest point is I hate dealing with people when selling. So when people start with, "I'll give you 800 cash today" it just puts me in a bad mood. It's how I am and i don't see it changing to kiss people's asses to buy stuff that I'm selling. This is what I want for it, let's talk, negotiate some fine. Don't offer me less than half the asking price off the bat or else we're probably not talking.

Well, I'm going to look like an ass for bumping this. Shortly after I decided to keep this I went to drive it to work and .5 miles from home it popped a brake line or master cylinder. Has just enough brakes to move around the yard carefully.

I tried dumping in some fluid and looking for leaks but nothing was apparent.

As much as I want to keep it, I've been wrestling still with letting it go. Online scrap pickup has offered $520. Would rather see it has a life continued somewhere.

With a Boxster in the garage, A4 Avant, MINI, Touareg, Miata, and a Cabrio there's too many vehicles around.

Not relevant but if you agreed to sell to the $900 guy he probably wouldn't even show up.

You'll need to log in to post.
