The realization has set in that I likely won't ever (or at least for the foreseeable future) get back to work on this car as I'd like to. That said, it's time to let it go to a better place.

The short story is that it is a 1991 Mercury Tracer LTS that I converted to AWD using parts from a 1988 323 GTX. This car has A LOT of custom work and many valuable parts within. I built this car for the 2007 and 2008 GRM Challenge. I think the best finish was 15th place. Peter Brock even awarded me the Grand Marshal award for the 2009 Walter Mitty festival as he was so intrigued with the build.

$2000 takes everything!

It currently starts, runs and drives, but with difficulty at it is completely untuned. It has a custom PCB with a Microsquirt module as the ECU.

A complete build diary with LOTS of pictures can be found here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123708939-2008-GRM-Challenge-%96-Turbo-AWD-Mercury-Tracer-LTS

Also, a video of it running: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceIftybAtFY

I'd be happy to field any questions either here or via email (kcbhiw - gmail = com)

Thanks for looking! -Kevin

That's a really cool car. I've always heard talk of using Mazda parts to build an awd Escort but never actually heard of anyone doing it. Hope it finds a good home.

I remember seeing this car at the $2009 Challenge (my first Challenge) and this was one of the cars that made me want to come back. I absolutely love it.

Good luck with the sale, and I hope it goes to a good home!
