Honda Civic coupe - Texas - $2000

It's time for my Civic to go. I have four cars currently and that's just too many for me.

2000 Civic EX coupe. D16y8 VTec engine. 5 speed trans.

First off, I did mad amount of maintenance to this car. Just ridiculous. 

• Windshield
• Headlights
• Stereo with blue toof
• All new speakers- Polk Audio front, Kicker rear.
• Window tint
• Timing belt
• crank and cam seals
• oil pan gasket
• alternator and a/c belt
• water pump
• thermostat
• every cooling hose. ALL OF THEM !
• PCV valve
• valve cover gasket
• cap/rotor/wires/plug
• all filters
• all fluids
• radiator
• distributor o ring
• vtec seals
• motor mounts (2)
• entire new exhaust from manifold back, to include new converter. From header to rear bumper, all new
• Eibach springs on KYB struts
• complete rear suspension rebuild to include those fun to change trailing arm bushings.

Everything on this car works, right down to the dome light. Sunroof opens and closes properly and doesn't leak. A/C is cold. Heater is hot. Power mirrors. Cruise control. Everything. No check engine light or any other BS. 

I have driven this car constantly and it gives 35 miles per gallon when I beat on it like it owes me money. It's amazing what skinny tires on a Honda Civic 5 speed can return for mileage. 

Car has hail damage, and I'm not even kidding. Let me repeat this, car has hail damage.

2000 American dollars gets you this fine automobile with a clear Texas title in my name.

I am pretty darn firmish on the price. I'd rather just burn the car to the ground that take lowball money on this deal.  I would possibly trade for a CRV with auto trans.

Worth every penny of $3k IMO.  I wish you were closer.

Given the insurance paid out on the car, with previous owner, is it considered totaled/salvaged/rebuilt title?

Forgot to add, I have known this car since new,  day one, as it was owned by my coworkers (2 of them actually).  It currently has 191k miles and climbing about 250 miles per week as I drive it everywhere.

Clear Texas title. Insurance paid mightily for hail damage, but they didn't total it.

Good price on that car. I had a clean one by Frozen North standards and I am always blown away by how clean engine bays are on southern cars.

Drive this to Chicago and sell for 3-4k easy.

Yeah, bad timing... I would love to put my soon to be 17 year old niece in this. But 4 kids to buy for when their dad pulled a bonehead of the year stunt means I'm broke as a knock knock joke.

Just curious on an update.  

I believe it's sold to TA_. I'm scheduled to pick him up from the airport Monday.

I am scheduled to pick TA_ up at DFW airport tomorrow morning. I'll be putting him in the Hondoo pointed west for a long road trip home to Arizona. 

I am about to go outside right now and wash the car and double check all lights and fluids.

The Honda was last seen headed west with TA_ at the wheel. The car is on to it's new life as a commuter in lovely and picturesque Tucson, Arizona.

This is an incredible deal for an incredibly thorough restoration as I would like to call it. Who ever gets this is getting a really great car.  

If you lived up here, that car would have been stolen already.

I think it would be funny to tell my wife we're buying a car that was "Cousin Eddie's".

I miss that little car a lot. Never before has a car given me so much that owed me so little. You can't commute much cheaper than a used Honda Civic. I ought to buy the damn thing back.

I swapped out of my 86 B2000 into my Element today to change things up on my commute for a bit. The Element is an okay car and has a cult following. But it hardly blows my skirt up too much if I'm honest about it. I sure wish I had bought this Civic back. So much so that I sent him a message. I'm sure it's long gone by now. ......
