Sadly, in looking in the S. E. For a cheap beater, most ads have his exact same thought process. 
Heck, when I only $500 to  $800 saved up, and needed something right away, folks on here were sending me links to $2000 cars  

Now, if that was in the old days of beater pricing, I'd snap it up and be proud of it, despite the lack of taste!
