The more the merrier, as long as you aren't expecting us to be a top ten team smiley

Edit:  At the least I'll likely need to shop for some off budget wheels with street tires for street driving.

The tires on it will be good for a while.  Kumho Ecsta, and IIRC they were whatever UHP A/S they offered.  They probably have 5/32 left.  255/50-17.

Want some sidewall pics?

In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :

Nah, no need for pics, just mostly thinking on what competition tires will go on, and for street tires, I’ll either pull and remount what’s on the stock wheels, or possibly just snag a set of wheels/tires of FB marketplace.

Might go with truck steelies by default, since they should be plentiful. Doesn't the Impala share a bolt pattern with older half ton Chevys?

Yup.  In the old days, all GM passenger cars were 5x4x75 except the "HD" B and D bodies, like wagons, tow packages, etc which got the 5x5 the same as 1/2 ton trucks.  As time went on, nearly all of the B-bodies were 5x5.

So your donors would include 1/2 ton 5 lug trucks, nearly any B or D body (with confirmation), 9C1 caprices, etc.  Astro fits as long as it isn't AWD (I think).  The AWD Astros borrowed a lot from the AWD Blazer/Bravado which were 5x4.75.  70s Ford full size cars used it.  Later Chrysler Pacifica and Caravan used it, but they would be likely a high offset.

I think for a while Jeep Grand Cherokee used 5x5 (5x127mm) in the 90s

9C1 I think are 15x7 and look good.  The truck rally wheels are 15x8.  I had both on an old 73 Impala and I personally prefer the Rally.  IF you want 15s.

There are 16" truck rally wheels, but I think they are all 6-lug or 8-lug.

Edit... just found this on bolt patterns.

Jeep JKs also use 5x5" bolt circle.  However their center bore is 71-72mm when the Impala is 77-78mm.  Some aftermarket wheels would have larger center bores though.

I just checked.  I started this for-sale thread last May.  It only took a year, but I finally sold it.  I couldn't be happier that it went to "family," and I'm now an honorary member of Low Prep Racing.  That name sounds perfectly aligned with my ambitions.

There is probably a program that someone could use to measure in that photo to see if there is exactly 72 inches between them...

And did he make sure that surface was germ free before touching it without his gloves on? Oh, that's right gloves are not as socially correct as mask's... I'm so confused...
