I had my first Miata for just a tick over 7 years before I decided to ultimately trade it for a fully-built Spec Miata car. In the process of making that decision, I removed my Hard Dog M1 bar (it's the one that fits under plastic window soft tops, but not hard tops), and I bought a pre-bent roll cage to go in the bar's place. Um... then I sold the car. So. I have both the Hard Dog bar and this roll cage for sale.
Roll Bar ($300):
I bought the Hard Dog bar from Flyin' Miata and I installed it in 2009. It's in great shape, but it's been installed, so it might have a few scratches. Here's the ad in CL: http://york.craigslist.org/pts/4838341181.html
Roll Cage ($800):
I don't know much about the cage since I bought it for my Miata from a guy who sold it to me after he ended up buying a pre-built racer. All I knew was that it would fit my Miata, and some of the tubes appear to have already been welded up to make installation easy. Just install and paint! Prices are flexible. I just want to get rid of them without giving them away. Let me know if you're interested!
Roll bar sold.
How does $650 sound for the cage?
Pictures forthcoming as soon as I get to a computer and not a cell phone.
Would like to see cage pictures...# of points? Bolt-in-to-the-floor or remove-and-hack-up-the-dash-and-go-nuts-with-a-welder?
I got some information from the first owner. It's a Kirk cage. (I thought that might have just been the company that sold it, but they are the manufacturer as well). He bought it about 5 years ago.
It is legal for SCCA use. It has six mounting points, the front posts should mount farther forward for ease of ingress/egress, and it might include NASCAR door bars (he wanted them, but he can't remember if he ordered it with them). I can't be 100% sure about any of this since I wasn't the one who ordered it, so I'm dropping the price again. $400. Or... you know. Make me an offer. Help me pay for my competition licensing school.
