I need a challenge budget place to live and I have an 8000 tow rating.  As long as it's never leaked I'm interested checking it out.  TIA

I've shopped motorhomes way more than I've shopped travel trailers or 5ers, but....  In the sub $3000 market, especially right now, you might need to be a little more flexible on the "never leaked" requirement.

You might be able to get into a pop-up for that, but something with actual walls will probably have either a current leak or evidence of leaks.

I've been looking for a while and I know and agree with what you're saying, but what I'm after exists, I've seen it recently but it won't be an easy find.   That's why I've turned to my GRM deal finding network, lol.

Where are you located?  It's a big country.  How far would you want to go for the right one?

8,000 towing is a lot of capacity?  Do you know where you would keep this RV?  Is that a RV park or somewhere traditional?  Because, if not traditional, look for a not seaworthy boat on a roadworthy trailer.  The RV parks wont let you in though.

A boat like this can be gotten for damn near free or just the value of the trailer.  When you are done with it, many landfills (at least around here) will let you roll in with a boat, (with engine removed) and they forklift the boat off your trailer...for a per pound fee.  If not that easy, a roll-off dumpster is about $300 and with a chain saw you could have the boat into it in one weekend.

Video of a friends 35ft sailboat some years back. Put into a dumpster in one day (with lots of hands.)

I may have a camper, my parents asked me to buy theirs with owner financing.  I wasn't aware they wanted to sell.  It's a 2017 and 29'

That was one of the saddest videos I've ever seen. What was the damage that totaled her?

Here, I race aboard a Schock 35.  That too was a different Schock 35 owned by another competitor and friend that was run hard aground.  Notice when the video starts there is no keel.  I don't remember all the details but he got a handsome settlement from insurance and then a cheap buy-back.  The boat was then salvaged for parts.  Both of the continuous, one piece aluminum extruded toe rails ultimately went to the owner of the Schock 35 I race aboard to replace the damaged rails on the one we race.  The whole mast went to another S35 also.  After that, more universal parts like winches were sold off too.  The rest went into a roll off dumpster that I remember hearing cost just $300.

We race aboad this red S35 which used to be white also.  I personally helped to paint it red.  That color change happened after some significant hull damage and repair.  The same damage that permenately distorted the aluminum toe rail.

Sorry to sidetrack your thread but happy to hear you found a solution.

I love that red boat more every time I see it. On the video info it said the boat was injured in a dry dock incident. I did notice that it was missing the keel. Much easier to disassemble that way. I bet he was able to do pretty well selling off the parts after the buyback.

Oh, yeah. This boat had had previous run aground damage once in it life. I knew that for sure. What I forgot until you mentioned the was yes, this was an on-land accident that ultimately totaled it.

I really don't remember if it was a drop from the crane or a hoist strap that slipped, or a jack stand that failed. But, it was something like that.

I do too remember that it was generally a godsend for the owner.  The boat had gotten pretty abused and wasn't a great example to begin with. Probably built from 1984-88
