New Civic Type R Pricing

Is the car market pricing adjusting down.

• Is this a scam? (Free ad costs nothing)
• Already sold but using it to get you into the dealer?
• Are they hiding fees?
• I'm not in the market but is this happening?

That's $1 per square inch of fake plastic vent/scoop/exchanger. Seems like a deal lol

I mean market adjustments are pretty much dead.

But that doesn't mean it doesn't have $300 nitrogen in the tires addition, the paint protection plus package at $800, and the wheel locks at $250 required. So it would technically be sold at MSRP. This has been a honda dealer thing for years.

I'd think no mandatory add ons covered that on this one.

I called him for grins - pay MSRP.

Buyer had name on list and refused - everyone else on the list wants red, blue or white color.  It only has 6 miles - the 300 is the minimum FB will allow as the entry.  

The killer is borrowing any money on it......

I can't imagine paying 47k for that. Sooooo many other cars I'd rather spend that on. Hell you can get a used Ferrari.... I know that defeats the purpose of a new car but, honestly, you really are better off letting someone else take the depreciation hit. Wait 2 years.

Type Rs have proven to be pretty depreciation-resistant, and sub-50k Ferraris dried up a few years ago unless you're willing to settle for some hooptied salvage title 456.

I mean, its still a full 10K more than the Elantra N. Perhaps a better car in some ways, but 10K buys a lot of tires. 

I'd expect to pay MSRP for a type r today. They are sitting on showrooms not waiting to be picked up by someone on a list at this point.
 

I have 3k miles on mine and I really like driving it everyday. Yes, there are other cars that are faster or similar for less or more. 

I do hate my cruise control but that's most modern systems.

High mileage 308s are still in the sub 50k range, but I agree that the 25k 456 days are gone

Test drove an 8th gen base civic with a MASSIVE dent in the door and a cracked front bumper. They wanted 800 bucks on PPF for a car with a destroyed exterior.

It took me all of 10 seconds to have the Honda dealer removes these cost when we bought my wife's Honda Accord.

Some are better than others for sure. Austin area dealers were the worse about that. But they were just bad overall. 

Shoot, I once had one in Austin told me that they couldn't register the car at my property in Nebraska instead of Texas. And that is why I haven't owned a Honda that wasn't 2 decades old or with 2 wheels. 

What used Cayman can you buy for 47k? That would probably be my pick

Sore subject - I did a vehicle evaluation along with some recent AFM issues on my 179,000 mile '16 Chevrolet Silverado and decided the family needed more utility than sportiness so I moved up to a '23 Chevrolet Silverado.  

I was hoping nobody noticed.........LOL

I like that color. And it allows you to basically go for ANY color wheels. Lime, gold, black, bronze, orange, baby blue, easter pink - would all look awesome.

they gave them to me free because they dealer traded the car with them on it. Wheel locks came off the following day.

This is a 2016 Cayman with 33K miles for $46K, about the best deal I have seen. It's 8 years behind on technology, has only 2 sears, and no luggage, so on paper it is nowhere near as good as the CTR. Until you drive one, then none of that matters.

Jumping on this thread a bit late, but I was just quoted $72k for a 2024 type R in the same color. This is the response I got from the dealer's agent.

I kept engaging because I couldn't believe this was an actual response the dealer was making to a potential customer. There's more but these screenshots cover the jist of it.

Important to point out that it's through FBM, which is a cesspool of resellers and "I know what I have".  But yes, some dealers definitely seem to go out of their way to kill the enthusiast market.  "What do you mean you don't want to pay double MSRP??!?  I totally added value to this transaction by being the middle-man between you and the OEM, who designs, builds, tests, repairs, and supports this car.  My job of hoarding the one allocation I get is just as valuable!".

Try another dealer, there are honest ones out there.
