I'm really digging that. It's not what I would do with a 142, but I can't even begin to hate it.

But it looks like that could be fixed quite easily! 
That one has been for sale off and on for awhile, like a couple of years, so not sure what's up with it. Cool car though.
Pretty sure this was in central florida for a while. This description has much more info than the last time I saw it for sale.
Don't know if you could build it for $3k.

Nope. They are the unloved classic Volvos. Turbobricks has a few 140 members, that's where I would start. I know the 142 was pretty competitive in ITB back in the day, the Lane Museum has a vintage "Volvo from Hell" from that era.
Pretty cool cars in my opinion so long as you're not dreaming of a V8. Most parts aren't too tough to find still.
