I have a buddy who owns two of these and has a thing for malaise fords in general, but especially tempos. I bet he has 12 of the things. I sent him the ad. We're not far from Reno in the grand scheme. We'lol see what happens.
The diesel is a Mazda unit that is supposed to be very similar to the FE. I'm wondering if the diesel shortblock could be used for a high boost turbo gas build using an FE head. Maybe someone has done that before.
Being a bit of a diesel guy, that would be hard to pass up at $100. And the ad said he will deliver... but Lower Alabam. is a LONG way.

one of my old teachers had the escort diesel... i think same engine.... anyways... that thing was always fogging for mosquitos.. that's all I remeber and a fully loaded 4x4 suburban was like a drag racer compared to it...

The escort was a 2.0. A friend of mine in high school had the wagon version 5-spd. It was ok. I mean, it was a mid 80's car. They all sucked. But it did make my 84 5-spd tempo look like a rocket ship. My single holley electronic feedback carb made 88hp. Her diesel wagon made 52.
Because nothing could make the world's most boring car worse except removing any trace of acceleration.
Is there anything slower then a 240D? well hello Ford Tempo Diesel....lolz. I admit it's still cool.
