There's a place that rents them along the beach here. It's a 4-lane major Highway with posted 45mph speed limits - which means 55-60 is normal. These things seem to do about 35-40 tops, offer minimal occupancy protection(they don't require helmets to rent/operate one), and are generally piloted by people who are unfamiliar with the area & more focused on taking in the sights offshore.
I truly don't know how no one has gotten flattened in one of these yet.
Well, the guy that is trying to sell it, either has never driven it... or doesn't mind lying for a sale. Sure it will do 55 mph... down hill with a very strong tailwind. And it better be one TALL hill.
they probably do get the 80 mph - driving around The Villages, or some usage like that.
And that brand new engine he is bragging about, can be (or could be, not long ago) bought from China for $150. If he had it priced what it's worth, considering the condition, I'd love to see what it do with the 250scooter engine in it.
