Belongs to a friend of mine and I drove it once last year for an autocross. It's fast, like properly fast. It's set up to run in SSP on Hoosiers and has had a few FTDs locally (and that's not easy).

They've gotten almost affordable.

I don't think I've ever seen a purple corvette before. I like it!

That is a great deal on that car. Sounds like its fully sorted. I would make so many women in my life jealous driving a purple Z06.

Giving that car up for a 1 day ceremony and a week of vacation?

At least somebody has a chance to jump on a great deal.

380 hp at the wheels. Is that a typo in the ad?

Why would it be? Rated stock at 405hp, with intake, exhaust, and tune, I don't think that's unreasonable.

Lot of go-fast for 19k.

In reply to Flynlow:

Yeah, turns out you are correct. The new Z06 comes with, what, 650 hp? Lots of things have changed since 2004. I just didn't realize how much. I guess I still think of C5's as newish cars and was thinking they would be closer to the C7 versions. Modern day minivans have about 300 Hp, so 380 Hp just does not seem all that impressive as it did in 2004.

Isn't that the truth. 405hp stock for <$50k was earth shattering in 2002. The later cars also cheat ;), the C6 used a 7.0l NA to get 505hp, and the C7 is supercharged.

I still think 405hp, and more importantly 405tq is pretty respectable from 5.7l with no power adders. It's also 3150lbs with the 19 gal tank brimmed, so quicker than the numbers suggest.

Oh, yeah I am not knocking the performance of a C5 Z06 at all.

On our local autocross course we have people in ZO6s of all three generations and I think this one is the most balanced and sorted. The C7 would probably be more impressive on a big track but for autocross it's just tire spin and slip or traction control stepping in to keep you alive. But it's not faster.
