If it's not rusty that would be cool. Good basic chassis. I hate the paint though, it doesn't even work in a hipster ironic way for Rod-of-the-wood.

Though I would hate to live daily with the paint too, I think it is period correct. When I google up "1989 Mini truck" I get these types of images

No argument on period correct, it's just I thought that 'style' was stupid at the time and still do now. Just as I've always hated flat colors, exo cars, lifted trucks and a multitude of other fads that have come and gone. This is my hobby now get off my lawn damn it!!!
I do actually like mini trucks, just not a lot of the wheels and paint jobs that went with them. In fact I think small pick up trucks are the one type of truck that makes sense.
