Some kind of cast iron 3 speed auto. In D it actually takes off in 2 and shifts to 3. It only has 1 if you put it there. Kinda like an "oh crap i'm stuck and need more oomph" gear. I did check with the rambler guys to make sure it was correct.

Sounds like a Ford Cruise-O-matic. Glad to hear you sold it. Pics of the boat?
