Good car for a Ksight swap, or $2000 challenge, or anyone that wants a super lightweight aluminum hotrod. I bought it to race it in Lemons but have more team support to build an FC RX7 as our second car.
Has a title in my name. Red, about 280k miles. Engine has broken camshaft, but I'll include a spare head with good cam for the asking price. Seats, headliner, carpet gone, IMA battery gone. OEM wheels with snow tires and 2 aftermarket wheels with all seasons included in price.
Also have a bunch of brand new spares not included in asking price but I can give you a good deal on too if you want them: New Honda OEM front hubs, Timken front wheel bearings, Timken rear wheel bearing + hub modules, complete set of steel brake hard lines. Aluminum belly pan, rear GAZ shocks, F/R springs from klr3cylinder. 4x Centric front rotors, 2x Honda aluminum rear drums, Honda clips to reattach the front bumper and belly pan, some other random stuff, all brand new. I have a good cylinder head and a good engine + trans too but if you want to k-swap it maybe not so helpful. Also have a low mileage engine and trans available if anyone wants it.

I know these do really well as a hybrid, but likely not worth the cost a f a battery pack. What kinda mpg do you think could it get just on ICE? I only need enough engine to support good working AC! Any other options don't matter to me, be AC is WAY important to me in a beater to work around here.
SWMBO has approved a motorcycle for the good mpg, but has concerns for me commuting on one these days. I do not have the "situational awareness" I used to have!

It does have A/C, condition unknown but 2 years ago it was charged.
Not sure on the MPG without the battery, the engine and battery were bad when I bought it. Internet says 45-55mpg without the IMA, but who knows.

67 HP 3 cylinder. Years ago I had a 1983 Mazda GLC with 67 HP. Insight will be better aero and is likely lighter. Weight with the battery pack is 1850, although the battery pack in these isn't all that big you might still reduce by a 100 lb.
Edit: If 67 HP turned out to be too anemic for you, a small turbo could alleviate that.![wink wink](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
It would still be Challenge eligible, too.
Figure out how to get it to L. A. (the other one, down here in Lower Alabam') and I'd give it a go. I don't know if we can work out the distance, though.
My wife would be tickled to death if I could get a reliable high 30's / low 40's in something safer (in her worries) than a bike, for under challenge money.

Its only gotta do 55 for about 10 miles, and 65 for 1 or 2. As long as it will acelerate faster than a no turbo'd 300D wagon, we're good to go with a measly 67![smiley smiley](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
My fast days are long gone! I'd be OK with the old 300D, if the mpg were better, honestly.
Be insteresting to compair the TQ / HP graph with the bike I'm about to get. It has a 3 cyl. w/about 67 HP, as well

The Insight's torque numbers show the value of the electric motor. The ICE generates 66 ft-lb and the electric assist adds another 25, for 91 ft-lb, but at 3000 RPM. The horsepower figures are much closer at 67/73. The electric is there to give the car acceptable midrange acceleration. Without the electric bits and a 1-liter engine you would just have to flog it and drive it like a bike with a roof. Might actually be entertaining without running the risk of getting a speeding ticket.
Yeah, but flogging the hell out of it would drop your milage, and then you'd have to ask "Why the hell did I buy this in the first place?".
Replacing the battery in these actually isn't very hard, though I'll be the first to admit it's been some time since I watched videos on it. NiMH cell packs only use air for cooling and it's right behind the rear seats in front of the wheels; hardest problem you'll have removing it is that it's a big heavy box that needs crap moved to get to it. It's not complicated, just heavy and time consuming.
I really wish this was closer to Iowa, I'd be making the trip to replace my own daily.

Could be Indiana.
LOL yes, Indiana.
I guess I drink too much!

I don't care if it's sluggish, all electric, all ICE,or any combo there in. As long as I can get high 30's at its worst, (of course anything above is better) on a super tight budget, and will go 40 miles each way (half the trip in 35 mph off and on)
would still be interesting to se the graph of that engine, compared to my 3 cyl .75L high revving bike engine, with out the electric assist, just for a novelty.
