Wasn't all that long ago beater were available for $500. Still are, sometimes (although I never find one) but even modern beaters are not in that range.
'Course, age also has nothing to do with it, and that, for the off road crowd, is worth more than a beater.

DISA, CCV, driver's front control arm bushing. Have radiator and expansion tank already to put in. Tires, brakes, battery, interior are all good. Heated seats and AC work great
Did you replace the cats?
"Engine Code P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1. I have had this code for about 3 years and it burned out the CEL. The last thing I can think to do is replace the exhaust sensors, I just have not done it yet"
