Not sure that's actually an SHO, but the first gen came with a Yamaha tuned V6

V6 for the first one, V8 second gen and V6tt for the last one.

To me the first one, whether the original (90-93?) or the revised (93.5-95?) are the ones to have. Manual of course.

Most definitely an SHO and it comes with the police package grill. It used to be a cool mod on the eary ones like this one.

Er, no.  First and second generation had the Yamaha V6 (apparently it was supposed to go into the Scorpio) and the third generation had the weird V8.  Fourth generation was Ecoboost, and bigger than trucks were when the first generation was new.

To me the first and second are the same basic car. Just a revision. The V8 is the real second gen. But you are correct.

I think this was intended for the Probe and not the Scorpio.  Shouldn't be the hardest swap into a Probe if a guy started with a 3.0 Probe since the block is the same.

I think this car would be a cool engine donor for other things that don't rhyme with "Taurus".

The scuttlebutt was that the engine was designed to handle 9000rpm for a rear drive German saloon, that project was canceled, so they decided to shove it into a Taurus because why not.
