EDIT;

Celebrity Wagon

If someone on here, could talk him down to $250, I have serious hard core challenge plans for it!

Maybe if someone else wants the 14"rims with tiny new tires? Or the entire FWD drivetrain?

Anyway, can't come down for at least a week, but we can work it out!

Man, good luck. That brings up so many childhood memories. We had the EFI, and the "back back" flip up seats.

I'm in Gainesville but am out of town. If you decide to move forward, I'll do everything I can to help next week.

Dad had a 63 Fairlane wagon when I was born. He traded up to a 68 full size ford wagon, then to a 72 mopar wagon. Several weekend test drives... only one us kids didn't ride in third row flip up seats was the 68 Vista Cruser ! Thought that back seat window on the roof was the coolest thing ever!

No hurry. Despite have a decent price, and a decently written ad, I'm sure he's not swamped with legitimate offers!

I'd pay the full ask, if I wasn't, well, I'll get in enough hot water spending the $250 I have left, on something "frivolous"

OK, not frivolous to most of us, but my wife is smarter than I am!!!!

That's a Celebrity wagon, not a Cavalier, probably a 7 seater.

Yup, that's a Celebrity and it's full of awesome.  My father had them as company cars for years.  Good ol Iron Duke motor.

Definitely full of awesome. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it'll be at the next $2000 Challenge.

Thanks. I missed that; looking for a falcon wagon or similar, and it caught my eye. I'll have to look up the difference, but my niece had a Cavalier, and this is better looking.

My niece also had my dads Pontiac 6000 for a bit. I got 35 mpg on a hwy trip with it one time, with the (LOW) Tech4 iron Duke! I thought most in that platform had the v6?

If someone here helps me out, (anybody wanna start a team?) and we get it running, I'm all in for that! Might win "slowest car". Maybe slowest ever?

It would take MUCH longer for my hat trick to make it, but that would be cool to be able to return faster.

Mom had a V6 Celebrity when I started driving in 1986. Since my crap cars were usually broken, I drove it a lot. My buddies called it the Celeb-IROC since we all thought the IROC Z was cool at the time.

I abused that car mercilessly. Neutral drops, Rockford turns, lots of burn outs, etc. It never missed a beat. I would love to find a clean one (reasonably priced) to cruise as a daily today.

I'm impressed that Rockford turns, is still recognized by some! One of my favorite shows!

All Saabs eventually lose the headliner and you can't see out of the back window.  This I think is the 1" square of paint compared to what it looks like on the car scenario.

Swiss Tartan would not have been any of my first 10 choices.

I sorta miss when I was willing to forgo any mechanical sympathy. I can't even bring myself to treat a freebie beater that way today.

Mostly I won't either. I've got a friend down the road that never keeps anything long enough to care. I'm kinda known there as the cool old guy.
First time I cut loose in my 03 F350 in his dirt rear lot (he does it all the time) staying sideways for about 70 feet, they were blown away!

Reminded them I wasn't ALWAYS an old fuddy duddy!

I understand almost all of the words. Also, understand a few of the way they are put together. As a whole, I'm still quite lost.

does change things, a bit.

EDIT:

Just checked back on the ad. It is FL. Not getting interest in a team mate; so since  I can't even afford the full 400, until fall contracts start - its probably a moot point.

Now, if there is an ad for same wagon somewhere up north, then that tells us something else???

Listen, if you want to do the mechanical work I'd be more than happy to contribute to the financial end.  I love Celebrity wagons, but don't have time or mechanical skills.

This should work out!

For its first (slow and stock) appearance, it'd be inconvenient to drag it to AL for (hopefully) minor work, to bring back. But logistics are just something to deal with. laugh
