A merkur is a gateway drug.
Yeah, sure, you can try it once, but soon enough you've got two project cars, three parts cars, and you're telling your significant other than you can quit anytime you want to.

Good thing I got my Merkur after I already had 3 projects. If anything, my car buying slammed to a halt after that.
Except for a truck and trailer, but truck isn't the same as car.
