I assume the $500 goes to the person that hauls it out of there? Also very interested in this "factory functioning cowl induction fiberglass hood" when it appears to be the stock hood on a Cavalier.
Okay doing some reading it seems to be an actual thing, where there's ducting and a special air cleaner setup to try and get air pressure into the filter housing from the back of the hood / windshield base. This is bizarre. Out of all of the engineering work that could have been done to improve the car at the time, why GM put man hours on this...
I still wouldn't pay $500 for that car.
Definitely a "Patrick is lucky covid is happening and he isn't willing to hop in the truck and drive to WV" car.

Just how much of a blank canvas are you seeing this thing as? What would you do to it to make it semi-competitive in the Challenge assuming it doesn't have a swiss cheese frame or some other major issue that would render it useless.
I love it. The hatches were the best version of that generation. I'm concerned about rust though. The back of the hatch has a bit, don't want to imagine what underneath looks like
That said, if I got it, I would totally repaint it black with red accents, do a 3900/6-sp swap from a g6 gtp, and have fun.
I bought one of these cars brand new. Mine was a coupe, not a hatch.
It was crap then, and I can't imagine that three and a half decades could have done anything to make them any better.
I owned it for about three years when a drunk driver with insurance totaled it from behind.
I thanked him.

I can post a similar looking and priced coupe from fb if you'd like a trip down memory lane. Lol.
