Hey, I cant lookup VIN numbers older cars and they seem to have less characters. Do y'all know any way to get a Carfax or something similar on these cars?

I understand your pain. I tried re-registering a car with an older style VIN, and it was a pain because it was less than 17 digits.

Much of what Carfax offers wasn't recorded back in the day. However, maybe this can help?

I've also had some luck just punching the VIN straight into Google.

Sometimes you can find an older for-sale listing that has details on the car in question.
