Loved the 007 cars piece and inevitably it sent me to e-bay, Hemmings etc. dream spending money I don't have. Regarding 'The Living Daylights' Aston, I dont' see where you can find them for the $40K you mentioned in the article. The actual car was a V8 Vantage (and a Volant convertible) and they seem to go for six figure amounts, the Vantage was based off the V8, but they still seem to go for six figures. Where were you seeing the cheaper cars?

Just had to bring up the red-headed stepchild of Bond films - the original Casino Royale sendoff that starred just about everyone as James Bond, including David Niven and Woody Allen. So if you include that one, there are lots more Bond cars, including a prewar Bentley (thumbs up from Ian Fleming) and a Glen Pray-built Cord 8/10 (the Corvair-powered one).

Aston-wise, still hopelessly buying Powerball tickets to afford a DB7 Vantage, but I'd settle for the Aston from On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Still remember being stunned by a black DB9 parked on a side street at Castletown on the Isle of Man after a rain - breathtakingly beautiful.

In reply to Jim Pettengill:

DB7's are the most affordable Aston out there. YOu can get them in the low 30's all day long. I just wish I had the testicular fortitude to actually try owning one as a DD!
