Some pics of one of the cars at work.
I finally got the old girl sorted and on the road.
This car has the first design Wagner / Lockheed contracting-band hydraulic brakes and it has a few quirks that make the master cylinder a bit unreliable. I spent some time machining some improved parts for the M/C and it's back on the road with a much improved brake system. No more wondering "Is this my last stop?".
It's powered by a Continental straight 8.
These cost about $1750.00 when new. A Ford Model T was about $700.00
There's only about 12 Dianas left in the world, even Jay Leno doesn't have one of these.
I probably put 15 miles on it today. She runs like a top!
Had to take some pictures and I thought you guys might like to see them.

I think I envy you your job.

Pretty car. What's the firing order on that thing?
Very nice. Finally, a STOCK old car; not rodded like many.
Cool car. Possibly the shortest doors I've ever seen.
The doors are sized fine, the rest of the car is big.
This isn't a Model A Ford. I'm 6' tall and quite comfortable in it.

Awesome! Do you know what species of wood they used for the fire wall? Hmmm gives a new twist to those words..

Gorgeous. I'll happily ogle any pics you want to post from your line of work.
Sorry, I don't know what was used for the firewall.
Usually body framing is made from rock maple, white oak or ash. Perhaps it's one of those.
Hickory is usually used for the wheels.
What a pretty car! I love the proportions.
That's gorgeous. The engine is set way down in the chassis, very cool.
How many other models did the Moon Motorcar Co make?
In reply to gjz30075:
Moon had a few different marques in their lineup.
Ruxton - One of the first production front-wheel-drive cars, came out in 1930. Ruxton bought the old Moon manufacturing facilities around 1930 and was competition for the L-29 Cord which came out in 1929. The Ruxton came out in 1930. There are about 14 Ruxtons left and we have 1-1/2 of them. Ruxton was the featured marque at pebble beach this year. One of my dogs is named Ruxton.
Moon - A mid level car made by Moon in the late 20's, I have not done any research on Moon so I don't really know too much.
Diana - built from 1925 to about 1928. About 2000 total production with between 7-12 cars remaining. We have this one and I know where there are two more that are restored and one that needs buckets of money thrown at it. Dianas are a copy of a Minerva.
There is one more marque from Moon but I can't remember the name. They were and entry-level car.

It's not our work, we're just maintaining and servicing this one. It was restored in the 1980's and has held up very well.

When it comes to what I work on, most folks have had the good decency to leave them alone.
We have a Ruxton that was chopped back in the early 50's but it was "just an old car" at that time and we do have an identical, unchopped body for it.
Hacking up cars like these now is a "bring your torch and pitchforks!" kind of offense.
Cutting up a Model A doesn't really bother me too much unless it's a Brewster body. You can pretty much build a complete Model A from new parts these days.
Not that it hasn't been done, some meathead stuffed a Chevy engine in a V12 Packard a few years ago. More fool him, his car is pretty much worthless because of it.
