A friend came across a 1973 BMW 2002 tii languishing in a field somewhere in northern North Dakota, and asked me what it may be worth.  All I have is one photo where the car is mostly hidden by weeds, and i'm not really up on 2002 pricing, but it is a desirable version.  He says it appears to be complete, but who knows how much rust lurks underneath all that vegetation (North Dakota cars tend to be pretty clean, but being parked in a field certainly doesn't help.)

I looked at the Hagerty price guide which only goes down to #4 condition / rough daily driver, and they say one in that condition  is worth around $15k (a #1 concours car is valued at $128k!)  This one is certainly somewhere south of #4 condition so I suppose it could be worth as much as $10k or as little as scrap value.  Anyone want to make a guess?

Roundie and tii, nice.

Its impossible to guess based on that one picture. If its like I imagine, if he is a buyer I would offer $4k and see were it goes, seller I would ask way more.

Yeah, pluses for a round-taillight Tii.

But what lurks beneath the weeds....
