Hello all!
Brandywine Motorsport Club is proud to be managing all technical and safety aspects of the 2021 Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix driving event!
September 18, 2021 marks the 5th annual running of this popular exhibition of vintage racers (well, except 2020 - thanks, COVID). The event features race cars and race motorcycles from 1900-1975, demonstrating their speed on the Streets of Coatesville road course. Drivers will run timed lapping sessions, exhibiting the performance of these vintage machines.
I know some of you here are familiar with this spectacular vintage driving event. Pictures and videos of past events, and other information can be found at www.coatesvillegrandprix.com . It is hugely popular with the community and a lot of fun.
BMC is actively seeking volunteers for driving event management positions - flaggers, corner workers, grid marshals, tech inspectors, and other supporting roles. Spend the day up close with many rare and exciting race cars and motorcycles, being driven at speed.
There is no cost to you - it's a free backstage pass! We are also offering additional perks such as annual Club membership and credit towards entry fee for a future BMC event. Lunch will be provided by BMC for all volunteers. Experience is appreciated but not required. If you have worked the course at an autocross event, you are familiar with the basic duties involved.
Details on volunteering are at http://msreg.com/CVGP-volunteer - please check it out and sign up to be involved in running this one-of-a-kind event.
This year there will be an open cruise night on Friday evening before Saturday's Grand Prix.
If you have a vintage racing car or motorcycle and would like to drive / ride in the Grand Prix, information is available here: http://msreg.com/CVGP2021 . We will feature the following classes:
- Group 1: 1900 to 1950 - Open wheel race cars
- Group 2: 1930 to 1975 - 4-cylinder race cars
- Group 3: 1930 to 1975 - 6-cylinder race cars
- Group 4: 1930 to 1975 - 8 and 12 cylinder race cars
- Group 5: 1930 to 1975 - racing motorcycles (all)
We have room for 60 cars and 12 motorcycles, and registrations are starting to fill up. We would love to see some first-timers share their vintage race vehicle with the crowd!
