Look for a bunch of us at Amelia Island this weekend. Anyone else going?
Amelia was a great show, as it always is. Seeing 15 or so Ferrari GTOs was pretty impressive, as were the Cobras, and modern-day hotrods with incredible attention to detail. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our very busy booth!
I didn't get a chance to shoot many photos on Sunday as it was so crowded, but here's a few of the Gooding and RM auctions leading up to Sunday's concours:
Ex Mark Donahue Porsche 917- Can Am car brought $4.4 million
Winningest Porsche in history brought a relative bargain $1.7 million
Lots of variety at the Gooding sale
Amazing paintwork on Bugatti at RM
Hard to find a classier car than a late 50s 250 Ferrari
This was my first time at Amelia, and I loved it. My wife usually gets bored at the vintage road races I have taken her to in the past, so I thought she might like going to this event, and she loved it too.
Seeing the gathering of Ferrari GTOs was amazing.
I have neer seen so many V-16 Cadillacs before.
I love classic Porsche road racers, and Porsche had a great turnout there; I used up most of my camera battery in that one area :)
Thanks Classic Motorsports magazine for turning me on to this great event.
The blue Ferrari 250 that Joe posted above was even more beautiful in person. It was built for a member of the Agnelli family, they owned Fiat, and had a number of one of options. A significant car and it sold at a price, that while expensive, I feel was almost a bargain.
