Hey gang, I just ran into and purchased the newest barn find.
1957 Austin Healey 100-6. 1 owner, Primrose Yellow with black interior, hard and soft tops. Here's a pic on the flatbed after we gave it a little scrub. it seems to be mostly surface rust.

It's not really a barn, more of a carport, but it didn't move for 37 years. barn find.

It's no where near as cool as a AH 100-6, but it has a 2.7 CIS motor and was free. So I got that going for me :)
Keith,of course I'll keep you apprised of the situation. Maybe CMM wants to come along for the ride? I'll be photographing and documenting everything. I need to sell a couple MGB's and the porscharu first (capital and space constraints)
Lists will be kept and a (probably 5") binder will go with the car wherever it goes.
Note the Florida badge and the SCCA badge on the grille. more clues.
I've never really had a desire to do a "correct" car, until now. I've even priced tires out at Coker...There's a Michelin X in the boot with raised white letters, that's totally the direction I want to go in.

What a great looking project car. There is a guy in my local club who has got that looks about the same condition but drivable. He takes ti to all the shows - wonderful!
Nice! I am looking at a junker 240Z that really spent 9 years in a barn. Parts car only, but the story is great.
My 850 Spider came from a climate controlled barn. Story goes that the woman left it with the guy I bought it from to be fixed, then she had some problems and vanashed. He left it sit in the back corner for over 20years. He finally decided to try to get the title in his name and after about a year of dealing with that he got a good title, then I bought the car. I don't have pics of the car in the barn posted yet.

Some cleaning has revealed the following list of items still contained in the car.
a USAA Auto Kit with the GA registration, and associated insurance documents.
two issues of "Aquarium" magazine from 1966.
a 1960 SCCA Membership guide
A pair of grease stained coveralls
DAsh plaques from SCCA races and rallies dated 1958
A very jaunty plaid driving cap
a map of Atlanta, GA, dated 1960
An Opossum skull (in what looks like a nest in the engine compartment...ewww.)
I have a barn find, its now my daily driver. I found a '69 Alfa Romeo GTV in a barn last year. It sat for 30 years. I had it back on the road in about a month and a half.It hasn't missed a beat in the past 16000 miles. Its original and unrestored.

just an update that I got the healey to crank under it's own battery tonight.
There will be a fresh battery (as the one I had was just laying around, the fuel system will get an overhaul, and the ignition will get an overhaul (plugs, wires, cap, etc) a fresh oil change and filter, and we'll try to fire it up now that the weather is looking better.

Up here in the "ticky-weeds" there are many such classics hiding out but you gotta have time to find them.

UPDATE: front brakes work after full master/slave rebuilds.
rear rebuild coming soon.
40 year old brake fluid has the consistency of grease.
