Does anyone know of a way to make the charging light on the dash work if you swap out a five wire alternator for a one wire? There was a great article in CM recently on alternator swaps, and some suggestions on how to swap in a 3 wire alternator and get the dash light to work. My situation is that I have swapped a rover V-8 into my MGB, a Delco one wire mounts up perfectly, and I’d prefer to keep it rather than having to worry about creating a new bracket for another alternator. I know I can install a voltmeter, but the MG cockpit is crowded enough as is. Is there a way that a wire could be added or spliced to let that light know if the battery is discharging or not? Thanks,
