Today we're looking at something a little more modern and a little more unusual for a U.S.-based buyer. This 1991 Nissan Figaro is offered by Duncan Imports for $10,999. It may be relatively new, but it bears unmistakably classic lines. It's a rare bird, too. The Figaro was only produced during the…

I lived in Japan from '89 to '91 and saw tons of Figaros on the road back then. Cool-looking cars.
I don't know how they are to drive, but I've always assumed they were built on the Micra chassis ... so they should be pretty good.
I've always wanted to see one of these in person. What sort of volumes were they produced in?
Duncan Imports has tons of right-hand drive cars and trucks---- it's a really cool website / showroom if you are into JDM machinery. They also have a bunch of incredibly low-mileage American and European cars. It's a very fun place to visit, virtually, or in person!

They have a lot of Figaro's there. I was there a few weeks ago because my wife wanted to test drive a
Cappuccino and we just wandered around staring at cars for a couple of hours while we were there.
I highly recommend a visit if you are within driving distance.

We have a bunch in BC (we could import earlier than the US allows) Two on craigslist right now.
Also a Daihatsu Mira Gino! (Someone copied the Mini desig, big surprise)
I actually saw one outside of an REI in Denver. Caught me a little bit by surprise. My wife liked it though.
There was one running as a support vehicle in the Great Race. I saw it in Ypsilanti, Mi.
Saw one in Indianapolis a few weeks ago. Kristi Lee, the lady on the Bob and Tom radio show, owns it.
By the way, our friends at the Lane Motor Museum have several of these retro Nissans in their collection.
I've seen two driving around LA and have talked to the owners at shows. They actually went through the process of having the cars smog-certified here. My wife loves them.
What a coincidence or there are more of these than we suspect. Of all places there was one here in Central Pa just yesterday. It was at a local collector car auction that I attended yesterday. It went across the block at $10,500, has 65k miles and was green. Or maybe that little green thing is getting around. :) Cute little bugger. Much room inside, transverse engine if I remember right, and no tunnel in interior. It looked roomier than the Mini.
There are a couple around Macon on used car lots. Pretty cool.
