2 Questions.....

1) how much for Shelby's first Cobra???

2) Do we get to know the buyer??

That should end up around Ferrari GTO money. And, no, we won't know the new owner.

CSX3015 sold for 5.5M (2007) then for 5.1M (2015) and that was Carroll Shelbys own 427 car (1 of 23) with a supercharger making it 1 of 2 and the only surviving one (CSX3303 was totaled).

I'd bet maybe 6 million on the high end. It's desirable but I don't think its more desirable than CSX3015. Of course I'm not in the market to buy one so this is all guess work.

I highly doubt we'll know who the buyer is and the car will disappear.

We were shopping CSX2032 a little while ago but it's been passed around a fair bit and the last couple auctions have proved that the owner wants far more than anyone is willing to pay.

As far as CSX2000 goes, I'd want to REALLY be doing my homework before I advised anyone to buy a car that actually belonged to Carrol himself.

It won't go for Ferrari GTO money. Although the Cobras (and Daytona Coupes) kicked Ferrari's ass, those stuffy europeans still hold the GTO in higher esteem. The best GTO these days would sell for $50 million or so. (one of the least desirable ones recently sold for $34 million)

This will bring big $$, but not GTO money. My guess is a cool $15 mil.

and yes.....I'd rather have this car than any Ferrari.

Did not sell last time, so maybe 5-7 million maybe.

Yeah, I don't see it bringing GTO money, but I'm sure it will be an impressive sale. If anything, all eyes will be watching. (Also, you know that this is the same car that recently graced our cover, right?)

I think it is more valuable than CSX 3015. It is the first one ever and was on on all the magazine covers and then and now, including ours.

I have one spot left in the garage. Wonder if they would take a Spitfire or two in trade.

I agree, this is one very special Cobra. $10M? So, what would a $10M Spitfire collection look like?

It really should pull in more than a Daytona coupe.

Especially if it belonged to Carrol. The guy was a saleman.

I'm not sure I'd characterize the Cobra as "kicking Ferrari's ass". The Daytona Coupe was created specifically because of the trouble the Cobras had with the GTO on high speed circuits. I think a better term would be "battled hard with Ferrari".
