E30 is by far easier to own and get parts for.

I agree with this. I cracks me up that MB went to Cosworth when they wanted a motor for Touring Cars. The body kit on them screams '80s, but it is a car that I would like to own. They have shim under bucket valve adjustment, I'm told, so that would be a butt to do.
