Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
You know, I wanted something from the '70s--three-point belts, dual-circuit brakes, etc. Plus I really like that early '70s GM styling. The Pontiac was exactly what I wanted and love it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to take it out this week. I could drive that thing every day.
There's an interesting Pontiac on eBay right now - a 1971 Catalina police interceptor. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Catalina-Police-enforcer-package/271420664366
I think I was about 12 when "Wide Track" was a popular advertising gimmick. They show a low wide GTO with headlights set well outboard on the B&W TV, my brother Mark says "Yeah, and some fool on a scooter says "Watch this, I'm gonna go right between these motorcycles and scare the crap outta them".

And it doesn't even smell that bad.
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Wide Track is great if you're traveling cross country. My '66 Catalina 2+2 had such a wide track I couldn't roll the right window up or down without climbing almost all the way across the console.
Of course when that car was new you could set out at night from almost anywhere out west and cruise 100 mph give or take without an issue at all, till you needed gas. Dim down the gauges, turn up the magic bar AM radio, & enjoy the sound through the optional rear speaker with a fader for the front speaker. Should your station start to fade or you don't like the song playing, just push the magic bar button on the floor and your radio will look for another station you might like better.
What a way to travel in Luxury!
My wagon doesn't have power locks. If I'm belted in, I can just barely unlock the passenger door--just barely.
My grandmother had wooden stick with a slot cut in the end so she could reach the passenger side lock button in her 76 Monte Carlo.
By the way, I took the wagon for a spin after work yesterday. That car rules.

Dang, it looks brand new. Although that could be the Instagram filter and the 20 feet of distance from you to the car?
