We live in a world of instant gratification, especially when it comes to taking a photo. Phone or digital camera, right away, you know if you got the shot.

For the longest time, I couldn't figure out why I liked the photos I took in L.A. so much more than most of the photos I was taking–I was using the same film, camera and lens.
And then it dawned on me during a discussion with David: the film had gone through an airport scanner on the way home.
Apparently, I really like film grain.
I think that’s what might have happened here. I had two bags of film on my last trip: scan and not scan. (For science!)
But TSA insisted scanning all of my film on the return trip. The airport was a mess due to weather, so I figured it wasn’t time to argue.
I’m now wondering if this is one of those rolls. I have shot Fuji 200 before and found it to have less grain. I have some fresh rolls here, so soon we’ll know.
More to come, but this past Saturday we did a cars and coffee at an Orlando film lab. Yes, all of my images from that day are on film (that I still need to drop off for processing....)
