;) Back in June.
Dragged home a 1977 FIAT 124 track car which is being setup for vintage racing.

Excuse the weak site. I have a new server under my desk I need to configure so I can blog.
Back to the car. Yes I lost my mind and will be a vintage racer by May 2010.
The poor GT6 has been orphaned and is parked alone in my parents garage.
(Need bigger garage with house attached.)

awesome...sad to see you done with the GT6!
do need a rollbar made soon for mine though since the prefab ones wont fit arund the miata seats...
I'm stuck racing my daily driver instead since the GT6 could never pass any vintage body rules with all the fiberglass and aftermarket stuff...
I'm not done with the GT6, just focused on the FIAT.
One day I'll own a double garage a fleet similar to yours ;)
The GT6 is rock solid. I did notice a vib coming back from Mosport so I'll fiddle with that.
I have the interior to do next as well, but she's fine. I look forward to just driving her and not worrying about trying to make her into a race car.
I have the "tank" FIAT to do that with.
Damn this is heavy.
That really was the main reason I went for the 124. Did not want to bang on my GT6 anymore.
Could not find a Triumph in my price range and the FIAT guys make an awesome case for cost and spec of the car.
Next year there will be 5 FIAT's on the grid for VARAC. We might even be up to 6 in 2011. Could out number the Triumphs!
CMP coverage.

Looks good!
Did you pick "515" because you're a fan of ~The Who~ ? Or is that just a coincidence?
(my ~909 number~ came from The Beatles song)
515...
Well it came from a few factors, but nothing from The Who :)
I wanted a 3 digit number just like other FIAT in the group.
515 stands for May 15th
124 was taken :)

looking forward to seeing more of your excellent step by steps on the fiat. There is a guy in my neighborhood with a beautiful (street) 124 that he drives daily...
You know what I love about the FIAT. With the seats out I can dance in this car. Its a boat compared to the GT6.
Either way I still have a lot of work and funding to do.
Next big buy is the fuel cell. Then we'll see if the roll bar setup is good enough for next season. I'm aiming for 1-2 races, but a full cage is coming.
Transponder, tires, better seat and so on.
CMS want to sponsor me or have any used kit you could toss my way? heheh
I just picked up a 14" curve mirror used.
Really that's been the whole point of this.
"Budget" racer.
My fellow FIAT friends. Specially #124 has been really good at keeping me grounded and reminding me to keep costs down.
The whole goal for 2010 is to run my school and 1 race. The "program" can grow over time. Keep it super simple.
