I reaally like the G body. Looks like i need to read up on different body styles of the late 70s malibus and also set up some Craigslist searches to wait until one comes around.

Olds Cutlass or Buick for something different

so many donks on my craigslist, i guess it's just the era of cars.

I don't know about darkest. My 78 T/A is a great cruiser and the AC will freeze you out. A lot of the cars were beat on and trashed, but the nice ones will surprise you.

American cars from the era have amazing HVAC systems. A friend told me about dodges having metal vents in the dash. The AC was so cold they would develop condensation and/or frost.

Looks like I got some research to do on what models are best and whats a good asking price.

I have a soft spot for the american cars of that era. I'd take a Malibu, Nova or Camaro

A couple more suggestions:

Aspen/Volare twins. Mustang II.

These are generally unloved and not nearly as popular as some suggestons already made, but I've seen nice examples of both.

I've really enjoyed my stint with my 7.0 liter-powered late '70s barge.

The Regal didn't get a fast Nascar nose in those years though like these two did. That's the only reason I don't ever really think of it like these.

I don't care that they were emissions-choked, they did look kinda cool. So much of this stuff has vanished from the Northeast. After enough winters, they'd have just vaporized. Can't remember the last time I saw a Laguna.

I like the oddball late 70's stuff, for sure. For me, much more interesting than another 69 Camaro or 68 Mustang.

Not a muscle car, but I've always liked the "bustle-back" styling of the Seville and the Chrysler variant, whatever it was.

But as far as "muscle cars" go I think the Fairmont Futura is a funky alternative to a Mustang. The 79-83 Capri too with it's box flares.

I also like the GM A bodies, or what about an El Camino?

Lookws at a pretty nice Laguna while on vacation in Florida. Friend said he wouldn't drive it up to North Carolina for me, but said he'd drive the Nova we looked at earlier. Haha.

There was a 1974 or 1975 Cutlass 442 with a 5-speed for sale on ebay. Canadian car. I fell in love.....

In high school (1979) there was a dude that loved and bought Laguna's. All the Chevelle guys gave him a hard time.

In 2012 I attend a Friday night car show by my dads and keep seeing this orange color highly modified Laguna. Finally I see the dude and ask if he is Bob from DGS high school and is that his Chevrolet. Yep. His lady couldn't get over the fact that I remembered a guy by the car he drove 33 years earlier. Hey, I am a car guy......

That was an '81-83 Imperial. Frank liked them too.

I'd still like to have a '78-79 Magnum.

Brother had one. Worked at a Cry/Ply stealership in the late 70's. It got repo'd from PO and the 318 was blown. Bought pennies on dollar and swapped in 340 from a Barracuda and custom dual exhaust.
