A certain muscle car or are you searching? You'll end up paying more for guaranteed financing, but there are dealers that specialize in that. If your income is high, there should be no problem.

Fix your bad credit first.

Best bet is to find a bank or credit union that will finance for you then. You may have to search high and low for a bank though. That's what the dealers do when they offer guaranteed financing.

Its a unsecured loan you will never find one at any reasonable bank or even if you could rate. Even if you had really good credit.

Pay cash.

I kinda was trying to avoid paying cash so i could use the loan to help repair my credit but if it's the best option

My credit union does "classic car" financing:

Classic Cars (25 years and older) As low as 7.50% - 36 months 7.50% - 48 months (minimum $10,000)

Call a few banks and credit unions. You never know.

I don't think taking on an unnecessary loan is going to improve your credit score. At least, not any more than simply paying all of your bills (mortgage, credit card, utilities, taxes) on time for a few years would.

If this is still outstanding its not going to go up with just a car loan. If they have been paid off and in full you can get a letter stating such and send it in to the three credit bureaus.

Lack of credit and bad credit are two very separate things.

None of my own cars ever cost me more than 3K and I'm not that young anymore. Sometimes its what you need and not what you want.

  • Trust me, we would be happy to make some fun suggestions if you give us a price range and an idea of what you want.

  • You could be like me and have a cheap daily driver and put what cash you have to build your dreams.

You may already have a decent car. I don't know, but there are much better and safer ways to build your credit.

Sure, that would help your credit, but you'd be paying good interest. I'd suggest searching for a local bank or credit union who will minimize the damage.

There are lawyers that specialize in improving credit.

When I got my first classic car loan they (the bank) wouldn't make it unless I put 25% down. I did that and got the loan. Since then I've either used current assets to secure the loans or paid cash when dealing with classics etc. Nothing wrong with getting a loan for something you want as opposed to need as long as you can cover it.
