Not really fair criticism (and anyone who knows me, knows my history with Fiats).

There's a bit of internet lobbying going on for the Reader's Ride contest. Hardly a accurate survey of ownership or interest.

CM uses what cars are available for it's articles dependent upon location and timing of the story. CM is in contact with FLU (the enthusiast club) when they need to find a car for a story. There simply isn't a large pool of show quality X1/9s out there as the cars aren't yet brining the kind of money that makes a top notch restoration sensible.

CM has done a very good job so far in featuring Fiats not only on a regular basis, but giving them fair press. Not something that could be said about any other magazine in past history. I'm sure we will see more in the future.

I don't blame CM for featuring the cars that they do. It is a fact that there are more British car owners our there in readerland than I-car owners. On the same token, unless the I-car folks step up and start showing their enthusiasm (which they have) things will not change. I don't expect CM to become Italian Car Magazine or anything. I simply enjoy seeing the I-car owners getting excited and doing something to promote the cars they love. There is room for everyone in the pages of CM. I absolutely LOVE the Mini and would own one in a heartbeat. I also have owned several other British cars. I think that the Readers Ride win is significant as David did put out the challenge to the other folks.

Let's keep it fun and not get personal about our cars. Not everyone likes X1/9s and that is fine with me, I simply want fair coverage for the significant car that they are. Thanks
