I am about to buy a Morgan +4 four seater. Any advice. I know that the car in question needs some work work at the door attaching points. The steel chassis is solid and the engien and gearbox are really strong. Interior was redone in vinyl and the trim pieces and weather gear is all there. The body is also pretty decent with no rust to speak of.

Is the termite contract current? Morgan has been in business over one hundred years for good reason. Solid cars, quirky but solid. What year model are you buying? Check the wood work very carefully, just because the metal looks good doesn't mean the ash coachwork fared as well.

a 56 plus 4 four seater. I do know as well that I can buy the entire body and wood frame for the car in alloy for 6400 dollars which is amazing if you ask me. Andy

As Mr. Basile pointed out the bits are still available new, but wooden coachwork is a certain witch craft taught to a gifted few. Take an Ice pick to the final inspection and add demerits accordingly. Any Morgan is a good find, Congratulations!

Thanks. I am going down to drive it this week and will let you know what happens. Spoke with a friend last night who is a huge Morgan guy and he told me everything to look for.

The scary part of the whole deal is the back seats are somewhat comfortable...below 20 MPH.

Remember Andy: You can always tell the age of a Morgan by counting the rings in the wood...LOL

Go to see the car next week. I will take pics and let you know. I am prepared to buy it if the one I have found is decent. I am hoping it is as good as it sounds. What a fun way to motor around Monterey this year.

Nope, the car was a bust, truly a terrible example. I will have a new car there this year though. Posted it on the Classic Facebook page last week and taking it on the Targa California next week.

There seems to be only 3 types of Morgans: 1. Needing restoration 2. Just restored 3. Looking like it needs restored

No point to this...Just sayin'
