Hi, I was just using the valuation tool for my car ('79 Ferrari 308 GTB) and I was astonished at the values listed. What do you think of the accuracy of this tool? If the tool is close to being accurate, then this car is easily the best investment that I've ever made.

Thanks,

Paul

It's pretty much the industry standard, so I would trust it. You should, however, be honest with yourself when it comes to the condition of your car. Most people who think they have #1s really have #3s, and the Hagerty guide doesn't sugarcoat.

I'll agree with Tim! A #1 is like it sat in the dealership or better. a #2 is as it just drove off the lot and maybe into your driveway. a #3 is just about perfect still .... or so it seems to me.

That was Tom, not Tim, but Tim does agree. I think their guide is the best we have, and I use it personally as well as professionally. That said, you have to realize that values change quickly and this guide is data base driven so rare marques with few sales, might not be quite as accurate. I use this guide as a starting point, but not as gospel.

Sorry Tom, Typing is not my strong suit....especially when I am tired late at night and am finally enjoying the Car forums and sites at the end of a long day.
