GA to OH specifically. Georgia doesnt require titles for cars older than 1985. All the ads say that they will give you a bill of sale. So if a guy such as I wanted to buy one of these cars qnd bring it back to Ohio would it be possible make it Ohio legal? The GA dmv website says "title is not required" but doesnt say specifically whether they would issue a title if requested. If they did it seems like getting an ohio title should be pretty straight forward. If they wont issue a title, then what? Would the car ever be legally tagable in phio again?
excellent question..last time I dealt with a sale from a non title state bringing into NYS, you didn't need the out of state title since the sellers state didn't require one..but you did need a bill of sale and a registration card from the sellers state.
After NYS did all there DMV magic if all was legit they issued me a title on 1975 or newer, or you used a NYS registration card if it was older than '75.

Is SC the registration card has to be current year from the other state with bill of sale. If registration card is not current for the current year. You were berkeleyed. Having the title alone just makes things a hell of a lot easier to deal with.
All that matters is what the Ohio DMV will do, give your local office a call. I believe most if not all states have information on how other states register vehicles (I recall seeing a big black book at the Minnesota DMV years ago, it's probably all on a computer now) so as long as the car isn't stolen and is bought legally it shouldn't be an issue.
Georgia will issue titles for older than 1985 if asked, just pay the title fee. I would check with Ohio, they may already know that Georgia doesn't require titles on older cars. Is so then a bill of sale is all you need.
Thanks a lot guys. You've been super helpful as always.
