Several staff members are on the road this weekend, and you really can't have a road trip without some road food. So, any favorites? Personally, a Slurpee always seems to work well when on a drive.

For in-car snacking on long trips, my first answer is beef jerky. It lasts forever in any weather condition.
Combos are pretty good too, as long as you don't step the the few that you will inevitably drop.

Yep. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have a copy at home.
For some reason, when I'm on the road, I often grab a bag of Combos. This is the only time I ever buy them.
Pringles.... Don't take up much space and they don't get mashed up easily. I find that after a few I need throw the resealed can in the back seat....far from where I can reach while driving. At least I have to wait for a rest stop before I recover them.
Oh yeah.... And lot's of bottled water.
I try to eat as healthy as possible when on the road. Fresh fruit keeps me more alert, and feeling good than crappy stuff. Lots of water, and an occasional Red Bull if I get tired. I may give in an grab a Snickers occasionally if I know it will be a while until my next real meal.
I stay away from fast food, as it makes me feel greasy and grody.
Ditto I've worked really hard to shed 30+ pounds of weight off. Hey makes the race car faster.
So yeah I've ditched nuts and crap foods. I used to love liquorice candy on a road trip. I could chew on a bag easily.
Fruit, light snacks and I'm good to go. No more pop either.
Besides I don't like to eat while I'm driving.
The only thing I have in a car is water. I usually take a rest stop off the road to eat properly. I sip water constantly after one or more hours of non-a/c drives.
Cheers Ron
