I have received a few verbal offers and the best was a recent swap for a $7000 sedan. But, I would not feel inclined to sell mine for only $2000 more than replacement value. I believe that I would be very picky on a replacement and end up spending more.
In fact most "will you sell that?" questions are best answered with "never". That way you will soon discover if the buyer is serious or will they will go away wanting one more than ever.

The only way I'd ever part with my Gt6 is if I could roll into a race package right away.
But since I'll never be that lucky, its not going to happen.

I'd probably sell my car for a $2k profit, but value is relative. I wouldn't sell my vintage Bentley for an extra $2k, for example.

To answer the question-If I wasn't considering selling it before, no. Yes, I can always build another one but what will I drive and play with in the meantime? When I sold my antique motorcycle that I had owned for 30 years, I picked the owner. I knew he'd take care of it. Turns out he has it willed to a museum.
Most of the questions I get are "How much is that worth?" or What would you sell it for?" or "How much you have in that?". Either a guy with no interest in buying it and didn't have the money to go to a movie for entertainment or the guy who wants to avoid the work most of us love and have something to show off until he gets tired of it.
My normal answer "No idea. It's not for sale".
One fellow was persistant and really obnoxious with the last question. I told him it wasn't any more of his business than the price of his wife's face lift or boob job.

I'm not sure if the interested party would have actually followed through with the purchase anyway, but I've been offered $10k more than I thought my car was worth...i.e. $35k vs $25k, and I still gave the "no way" reply. Since I already have this one, I'd rather just stick with the one I know.

I think it depends on the car. With the g/f's Volvo 1800ES or '79 Spitfire, I doubt it. For my '78 Spit 6 in it's current condition: definitely. After I start doing work to it - probably not.

Like other poll questions, this latest one is not grammatically clear.
Does this ask, would you sell your classic for (only) a $2000 dollar bonus/profit....IF you were selling it?
OR, does it ask, if someone offered you $2000 more than you felt it was worth....would that be enough incentive?
