Only Tweed I'm aware of is tall, blonde, ex-playboy centerfold now living with Gene Simmons of KISS...

Tweed is wool (but with a particular woven pattern). Good for outdoors when it's damp and cool. A fair amount of real tweed comes from the northen part of the Republic of Ireland....which is where I'm from. Some of our family still raise sheep for this.

These days I think they also weave tweed fabric from alpaca wool (as well as sheep).

For serious driving, I prefer Nomex.

Ha! One of my pilots just got back from Scottland, and brought me back a gin-u-wine deerstalker (aka Shrlock Holmes) cap. Just for the Morgan. The flaps tie down around the chin

Of course I have stringbacks and even a pair of gin-u-wine imitation Jimmy Clark driving gloves...Those are for the TR.
