It wasn’t quite 3 weeks ago when I spent a couple days up in Maine zipping around some neat back roads with some of my fellow Tiger and Alpine owners, tops down, sunny, temps in the 70’s or was it 80’s. And it was just a week ago when I took the Tiger to work, sorry I put the hard top on because the drive home would have been perfect without it. But tonight, here near Boston, its SNOWING, temperature just above freezing.

It probably won’t accumulate on the roads, at least not right where I am, but, still it’s SNOWING. This is way too early for the season to end. The good fall colors in the trees is just getting here, and I’m not ready to put the Tiger away yet.

Whatever happened to global warming?

Last year we had our first snow on Oct 17th and the last of it melted on June 7th. There were still days I could drive in Nov but from Thanksgiving to mid May it just wasn't going to happen. This year we had 4 inches on Oct 5th, but it's all gone so I'm driving the Elan as much as I can before putting it up for the Winter. Lots of projects planned for it so it will make the Winter enjoyable.

I'm waiting for it...

Still need to find the darn window scrappers and start the snow blower.

Doing the winter tires this weekend.

Joy.

Just checked my photos. Oct 31st last year we had snow.

They say it's another La Nina year, so get ready for a repeat of last Winter. :(

I drove to work yesterday in my MGB top down. It sat that way in our parking lot all day. I saw some other cars top down on the drive home.

But today, we are awaiting the snow. I still have about 5 cu yards of mulch for my shrubs that's sitting in a pile in my driveway. Better get out and spreading it out soon!

Two years ago, we ran a vintage race at Watkins Glen at this time of year and it snowed.

In '72 I was at the Watkins Glen GP, Columbus Day weekend IIRC, camping in a tent, and there were reports of snow a couple towns away.

Anyway, more snow tonight. 5 - 9 inches predicted where I am, more slightly further inland. I think the snow blower will be extracted from all the crap at the back of the garage this morning.

Yes, Andre, some years are better than others. I've driven the Tiger to both xmas and New Years parties a couple times. I'll use it until the salt comes out.

Right now our power has been off since 4AM Sunday, the house is 49F, and they say it might be Thursday before the power comes on. The center of town and even our Senator's house is still dark. After the Saturday night storm, my street looked like a Rallycross course, downed trees and wires, cars bouncing up the side of the road across some guy's front yard to get past. Fortunatly, there a couple Jeeps and an Explorer in the family, so we could get out, as long as you don't mind scraping sounds on the roof and your antenna going boinnnggg on occasion.

Since this is the pefect weather for an enclosed LBC, I had plans to drive my GT6 until the "first salt" and was hoping for that to be well into December. Now we're scrambling to get all of the cars winterized...
