Excellent!
I've raced that little red FIAT Abarth a few times. Great fun!.....I think he'll be at our VRG-Watkins Glen event in three weeks.
Anyway, right back at you (did this two weeks ago):

Damn You, Andre!!! I'm sitting here at the computer, in my den , in Michigan. I grew up about 35 miles from Tremblant. You post videos of Quebec on a beautiful fall day,the trees at the peak of their colour, with vintage racecars, which I'm watching. Hockey Night in Canada just started (les Canadiens contre les Maple Buds) and the 48th Highlanders are playing "The Maple Leaf Forever" on the ice at the ACC. I wanna go home !!! Nice videos and I really do appreciate reading your posts. They have made me consider moving back to eastern Ontario ,now that I've retired. I could be close to Tremblant, Shannonville, Calabogie and even Mosport. All I need now is a vintage race car !!!

OK but as long as you're stuck down here in lower 48........
Why not try out ~Waterford Hills~?
I think it's pretty close to you and it's not a bad place....pretty sure they have various track days for street cars too.
Eh, I do want I can to promote the country.
Still nothing stops you from finding a vintage racer and building it.
aeronca65t, I haven't raced the last 3 seasons, but prior to that I raced at Waterford for 10 years in an ITB GTI and a SpecMiata. Went to the track for the Meadowbrook vintage races regularly, too. I'm currently putting a GTI 16V together that I intend to take to the Waterford open tracks days, possibly next summer. And Andre, I will be looking for something vintage after the VW is street worthy and I sell my CooperS.
Ahh, I see! I raced the NASA version of ITB last year (in an Escort GT)
By the by, I lived in Toronto for five years. great town.
Before I switched to vintage, SpecMiatas were really tough on my little car.
(André-glad you liked the music. it seemed to fit!)
I raced 2 seasons of SpecMiata and didn't have any appreciable contact with other cars, and that's at Waterford Hills where the track is only 24 feet wide. I look at videos (like the Tremblant one) and I'm all gung-ho to try racing with that much room. I've never raced anywhere but Waterford. The appealing thing about vintage racing is the emphasis on no-contact racing. I think it makes for more polite racers, which is not the same as saying they're not aggresive. There's just not the "rubbing is racing" mentality that a few club racers have. I've always tried (not always successfully) to leave the other guy room, especially the last 3 or 4 seasons. I had more fun midpack in a Miata race than I did the year I won ITB. My perception is that vintage would be like that.Well, Montreal beat the Leafs, so the world is as it should be. Bedtime now.........
You could always buzz up to Mosport this weekend for the annual fall Mosport Celebration. The vintage classes are running - or at least those who didn't make Mont Tremblant last week... Doubt the weather will be as nice as Andre highlighted in his pictures though...as rain is the forecast at least for tomorrow. Schedule is at the bottom of this link... http://www.mosport.com/roadsched-cal.htm
