Buzz-A-Rama, a slot car institution since the mid-'60s, still welcomes enthusiasts to Brooklyn. How sweet it is!

In reply to David S. Wallens :

That's awesome! I remember a local hobby shop having a large track similar to these, but it was no longer in use, which always frustrated me as a kid.

Heck yeah.

We had a track 15 minutes from home when I was a kid. I raced there frequently in addition to buying model cars at the hobby shop that operated the track. I loved watching the car fishtail around the final bend and scream down the front straight towards the big banked first turn. Later there was another hobby shop with its own track in the nearby mall. Both of them closed down years ago. I'm desperately trying to reclaim some of that magic now with a small plastic track at home. But those big wood tracks with four to eight lanes are where my heart lies.
