We are thinking about going to Road America in July for the vintage racing weekend. If we go, we would take our RV and camp inside the track.
I've always wanted to see the Friday night parade of vintage cars through Elkhart Lake, but once we get our camper set up we wouldn't move until it was time to go. Having never been to Road America or Elkhart Lake before, how hard would it be to bum a ride, Uber, hitch hike etc. from the track to the town and back to watch the parade? Any recommendations on where to view the parade from? Do any of the downtown businesses sell tables/seats in a viewing area for the parade?
If there are any must see events during the weekend please let me know.

One year I went to Friday only and had to leave at dinner time - missed the downtown parade.
They line up at the track to leave so we watched them leave - it was cool to see. While standing around people invited my daughter to get into their cars.
Thanks! This is kind of a "bucket list" item for me, I just want to make sure I get to see as much as possible!
As the left the track to go down town there was a lot of heavy acceleration, you know, clear out the carbs a bit......this was the grid from 2022. Maybe wet your appetite a little.
Maybe you prefer the smaller cars?

Friday is low key so walk the paddock and try to see every car. The weekend gets more crowded so work your plan those days. If you like old race cars.......
