Where to tour next?

if you missed it, we sent out an email to everyone yesterday, asking where we should tour next. If you didn't get the email, sign up here on the site for our newsletter and you will and here is the copy of what we sent. We welcome input from our board before we put another classic sports car tour together.

Help Classic Motorsports pick its next tour destination

As our Orange Blossom Tour fills up–we have one space left, and you can click here to reserve it–we’re looking to add at least one more classic car tour to our schedule. Before we go too far, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Option 1: A hub tour based in Asheville What do you think about spending a few days in the luxurious Inn on Biltmore Estates in Asheville, North Carolina? Each day we’d all head out for a different excursion, including track time at the BMW Performance Center, drives through the Great Smoky Mountains, and visits to some amazing private collections. This would take place in mid-October, which of course means we’d experience the magnificent foliage.

Option 2: A road tour through New York’s Finger Lakes region Our partners at Chubb Collector Car Insurance would like to take us through the Finger Lakes region. Together we’d explore Watkins Glen’s original race course and visit the Thousand Islands. Again, we’d see some more spectacular private car collections on this trip.

Option 3: A rally through northwest Michigan And finally, we’re considering hosting a tour or rally through northwest Michigan. During our travels we have noticed that this part of the country has some amazing roads that are off the radar. Shall we explore them together? This tour would stretch from Holland, a quiet town on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, to Mackinac Island, a resort found at the top of the mitten. We’d visit in June, before the roads get busy.

So many places to tour, so little time. I am only familiar with the Finger Lakes and give it a thumbs up.

All the choices sound excellent but my vote would be for option 2 (Finger Lakes/1000 Islands) as it is closest to home for me. Maybe tie the schedule in to spectate a vintage event at Watkins Glen?

Still just a lurker, my first real post.
I drove through Asheville a few weeks ago and was really impressed with all the roads and scenery. I vote for Option 1. As I'm out in Denver, it would be a bit of haul for me, but that is now on my list of drives to do. Still kinda finishing my car, if finishing ever really happens. Bill

If you could consider some Low rent Motels.... Start around Helen Ga. and do the N.Ga. mountains,Hwy.180 & 60 Make a good 3Hr. tour then you would want to go into the Famed Dragons Tail,and spend some time at the Casino's,(They like to Comp. stuff for Advertisement. It can easly take you 2 days of riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hey It Could Be Worse,I could join you If it were close to the ATL

I don't know how many miles you want to cover, but if you do Michigan I'd start further up the coast- maybe around Ludington- follow 31 up through to Mackinaw Island (for sure!). Then from Mackinaw take the bridge to the UP and follow US 2 around the North end of the lake. Maybe end up in Escanaba- in da moonlight?

My vote goes for Asheville. Mrs. DX and I are trying to get down there one of these days.
